Simple Trauma Algorithm

1. Think about the trauma and write down, on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the most severe), how you currently feel. (Slightly agitated, moderately agitated, or extremely agitated.) If you can get the upset down to 1, it is quite possible it will stay that way. (The scale is known as the Subjective Units of Distress or SUDs scale).

2. Now, Tap 5 times, with two fingers, at the beginning of your eyebrow, strong enough to put a little energy in your system.

5. Now, locate you collarbone, down the throat to the bone, then down another inch and one inch to the right and tap 5 times.

6. How do you feel? Using the SUD scale and remembering where you started on the scale (If for instance you started with a SUD of 5, do you now feel like a 4, 3, 2 , or 1?) If the decrease is 2 or more points, go the the "Gamut" treatments below. If there was no change or the change was only 1 point, starting at a 7 or higher do the following:


Psychological Reversal (PR)

a. Locate the spot on the outside edge of either hand about midway between the wrist and the base of the little finger (About the middle of the karate chop area) and tap 5 times against the first knuckle of the opposite hand. Then:

b. tap 5 times under the eyeball again;

c. Tap 5 times under the armpit again;

d. Tap 5 times on the collarbone again;

e. Tap 5 times on the little finger spot;

f. Tap 5 times on the index finger spot;

g. Now, Tap 5 times, with two fingers, at the beginning of your eyebrow, strong enough to put a little energy in your system.

h. Now, locate you collarbone, down the throat to the bone, then down another inch and one inch to the right and tap 5 times.

i. Re-access your feelings on the SUD scale again. If the decrease this time is 2 or more points go the the "Gamut" treatments below. If however there is no significant decrease proceed to the "mini" PR (Psychological Reversal) below.


Nine Gamut Treatments

Locate the gamut spot on the top back of the hand by making a fist with the non-dominant hand. Place the index finger of the dominant hand in the valley between the little finger and ring finger knuckles. Move the index finger about one inch back towards the wrist. This is the "gamut" point. IMPORTANT. Tap the gamut spot five times before you begin then at least 5 times as you perform each of the following:

1. Tap with your eyes open;

2. Tap with your eyes closed;

3. Tap with your eyes open and pointed down and to the left;

4. Tap with your eyes open and down and to the right;

5. Tap and whirl your eyes around in a circle in one direction;

6. Tap and whirl you eyes around in a circle in the OPPOSITE direction. Continue tapping but rest your eyes for a moment.

7. Tap as you hum a few notes of a song you know;

8. Tap and count aloud from 1 to 5;

9. Tap and hum a few notes of your tune again.

10. Tap 5 times, with two fingers, at the beginning of your eyebrow.

11. Tap 5 times on the collarbone again;

12. Re-access your feelings on the SUD scale again. If your SUD has declined to 1 do the "eye roll" below. If the decrease is significant but not yet down to one perform the "mimi" PR (Psychological Reversal)below.

End the session with a "floor to ceiling eye roll" (Tap the gamut spot on the back of your hand while your head is held level. Look down, then slowly and steadily raise your eyes all the way up. The gamut spot must be tapped during the moving of the eyes.


The mini PR (Psychological Reversal)

a. Locate the spot on the outside edge of either hand about midway between the wrist and the base of the little finger (About the middle of the karate chop area) and tap 5 times.

b. Tap about 15 times with two fingers the same spot on the opposite hand

c Re-access your feelings again using the SUD scale. If your SUD has declined to 1 or 0 accomplish the "Gamut" series. If the decrease is not down to 1 stop the process, relax, and try the "Complex Trauma Algorithm" in a day or two.

End the session with a "floor to ceiling eye roll" (Tap the gamut spot on the back of your hand while your head is held level. Look down, then slowly and steadily raise your eyes all the way up. The gamut spot must be tapped during the moving of the eyes

You should now be able to think about the Trauma without any "upset" feelings.
