Teaching Roles, Promoting Hypnotherapy & Research

Bill is a senior hypnotherapy lecturer & has taught at Post Graduate Diploma level as part of an MSc programme.

As an expert in the field, he has contributed to radio & television programmes including various programmes covering anger management, addiction treatment, eating disorders, OCDs and extreme phobias.

He has also presented at a number of medical and dental conferences worldwide to promote the role of hypnotherapy.

He has an interest in cold water exposure therapy and has raised funds via cold water swims / dips for Cancer Research UK and the Bone Cancer Research Trust. Cold water exposure therapy can be an effective way of enhancing mental focus and can be used as part of trauma / PTSD treatment.

Cold water swimming can be used to help with mental focus, as well as anxiety / trauma treatment

As an advocate of cold water therapy and open-water swimming as part of trauma treatment, Bill regularly uses an ice bath and / or swims in local lakes himself.

He has also undertaken research into computer-assisted psychotherapy, the result of which has been the innovative development of a series of software solutions for use by all psychotherapists throughout the world that help to facilitate very rapid change. Computer-assisted techniques are designed to be used in parallel with all other hypno-psychotherapeutic approaches.

Such approaches may include:

  • EMDR Software (a powerful psychotherapy tool)
  • NLP Software (Swish / Map Across / Fast Phobia techniques)
  • CBT Exposure Therapy
  • MindSync / low-frequency sound waves

Bill has also developed a new Eye Movement Desensitisation and Processing (EMDR) protocol to treat phobias. The protocol combines aspects of phobia treatment from hypnotherapy, NLP and CBT with EMDR. This EMDR research has been published via ResearchGate.

At Changing States: Hypnotherapy High Wycombe new technologies and therapy styles are optionally used on an “as required” basis during sessions. Additionally, some tools are sometimes provided for use by clients when back at home.

Professional Associations & Affiliations

Bill Frost is listed with a variety of professional associations, is present within a number of directories and is listed as part of the teaching faculty for a number of colleges as follows:

Why I am passionate about hypnotherapy

“I have been interested in hypnosis and hypnotherapy for a very long time, I bought my first hypnosis books as a teenager. I wanted to learn more about how the human mind works and to overcome a fear of deep water.

As a therapist, I believe that the absence of psychological distress should be an intrinsic human right and I will do everything in my power to enable my clients to regain control over their lives. This is why I keep my fees as low as they are.

I am also a great believer in the power of science and blend new treatment strategies such as EMDR into my work as a hypnotherapist. Doing so substantially increases the probability of change, the depth of change and the longevity of change.”

Personal achievements & history
